Integrating AppSignal With Microsoft Teams

We're constantly looking for interesting integrations for our performance incidents, exception incidents, anomaly detection and uptime monitoring notifications, and our latest addition is an integration for Microsoft Teams.

Microsoft Teams is a hub for team collaboration in Microsoft 365. It integrates people, content, and tools your team needs to be more engaged and effective.

Adding MS Teams Integration to Your Application

This is an integration set up per App.

!> Warning: Do not use the "official" (ahem) Teams integration from Microsoft. This integration is not supported by AppSignal and, as far as we know, it does not work. It was built without our knowledge or consent. Yes, we think that is weird as well. If you know anyone at Microsoft who can alert them about this, let us know.

Adding the integration consists of two steps:

Step 1: Add MS Teams Incoming Webhook

Either configure a "connector" under the channel options or, if that option is not available, click the apps icon at the bottom right and search for "Incoming Webhook" and click "Add to a team":

MS Teams error webhook setup

After a couple of redirects, you should see a webhook configuration form with a name and image. Choose a descriptive name (e.g. Errors in #general).

Step 2: Integrate on AppSignal

On the desired app, head to "Notifiers" and select "MS Teams":

MS Teams Webhook Form

You can test the integration after saving the form. A message should appear in your MS Teams channels:

MS Teams Webhook Test Notification

After configuring the Microsoft Teams integration, you'll receive notifications about incidents on AppSignal right in your channels:

-> Not using Microsoft Teams? You can also receive notifications from AppSignal by email or through any of our other integrations, such as Slack, HipChat, PagerDuty, OpsGenie, Flowdock, and Webhooks.

If you need help setting up the Microsoft Teams integration, get in touch. We're always happy to help!
